Sheet Metal Fabrication
The sheet metal fabrication facility is equipped with the latest state of the art automated fabrication equipment to include a complete coil line for manufacturing rectangular sections of duct in both lined and unlined sections. This equipment has the capacity to manufacture duct in all of the standard SMACNA gauges. This equipment also has the ability to cut and form 16 gauges Kitchen grease duct. In addition, the shop has two plasma tables, a 5’ X 20’ feed by a 4 station coil feed that allows us to switch between gauges very quickly. The second plasma table is a 5’ X 10’ manual loading that is utilized for specialty fabrication. The shop also contains power breaks, roll and lock forming equipment, automated duct lining equipment for applying insulation glue and pinning.
Our sheet metal fabrication capacity is well over 3,000,000 of duct per year (a typical 4-story office building that has a roof top VAV system would use 100,000 pounds, a 15-story high rise condo would have about a 120,000 pounds of metal)
Our sheet metal fabrication (CAM) is supported and scheduled through a shared database with our estimating system and CAD. This database holds our current material prices and productivity rate. When a project is drawn in our CAD system it can be automatically downloaded to our fabrication equipment while at the same time produce a labor and material budget. Midstate Mechanical is the only mechanical contractor in Arizona that is utilizing technology that ties CAD / CAM / Estimating together for manufacturing purposes.
